Dev Update: Frustration going on Hold
Frustration Going on Hold
I have bad news. After a lot of deliberation I've decided to put Frustration on hold indefinitely. This might be out of the blue but I've been thinking about it for a while and I didn't want to do the classic dev thing of going dark for several months and popping up with some excuse. I'm just going to rip the band aid off. No more Frustration. The short answer for why is I'm not getting that much out of what I'm putting in. I'll give a more detailed post mortem down further down, but firstly I want to say: Thank you to anybody who's supported me so far. I truly appreciate you checking out my stuff, following me, or giving my support in any way that you could. To my current patrons, I completely understand if you want to unsubscribe. I salute you and wish you luck, but if you want to stick around I'm not done posting just yet.
What's Next?
So if I'm not making Frustration what will I be doing instead? For now I'll be switching to just releasing animations and photos/wallpapers. It's what I enjoy most about this stuff and I think I'm pretty good at it. I still have some ideas I want to do from Frustration along with just randoms tuff, but it's also an opportunity for me to try making longer more involved animations. Flex my muscles so to speak. I did limit myself a little bit with Frustration because I had to churn some of them out, so I'm excited to play around a bit and make them the gosh darn smut I can. As of right now I have 3 unreleased animations from Frustration and I need to figure out what kind of a schedule I want to put on myself, so bear with me on the releases. I think I also want to start commissioning VAs for audio so I need to figure that out as well. If you want to see the first of them I'm on Xitter and Bluesky. As for Patreon rewards, the new rewards will be straight downloads of all future videos/images. I could make 4K versions as well now that I'm not limited by game size but with HS2 the quality doesn't make much of a difference. I can also release HS2 scenes/cards for the small few who might care for that.
What about a new game? I like the idea of doing that, but I need to figure out how I can make a pipeline that lets me release more content earlier. If you've followed me for a while you might have seen I had a previous post about a game set in an office filled with a bunch of very lusty women so if I do make a game that that's probably going to be my next endeavour.
Why No More Frustration?
It's a combination of factors.
Number 1. It's just doesn't seem that popular. I wasn't expecting to blow up or be an overnight success, but my growth over the last few releases has been pretty much stagnant. Releases are the only times I really get more support/followers and I can't really release on a more regular schedule. Besides that I don't think the lack of growth a quality issue. I can't really fix it by working harder. Not to toot my own horn, but I've received very little negative feedack on the game itself. So, the people who are playing it are either liking it or it's not bad enough to leave hate comments on. Which is good. But that also means that the reason it hasn't grown is probably that people just aren't interested in the game. Some of the constructive feedback I've gotten is that it's too broad, which I totally understand. People want to focus on something more niche with a few LIs or fetishes they can really focus on. I also think the soft femdom with the Mistress aspect is a turn off for people who don't like femdom, but it's not a hardcore femdom game so I'm not getting those who are really into that niche. I'm not lamenting any of this. Shit happens. I don't think I deserve more support or anything like that. I had fun making it so I'm not salty only a handful of people enjoyed receiving it, lol.
Which leads me to number 2: Time and ROI. I wanted to wrap this game up and I could finish the story in two updates but they're going to have to be much bigger updates and that means at a minimum if I worked flat out on this I could be done in 6-7 months. I'm not going to do that. So it's more like 8-10 months and then I'm spending the better part of a year making something that people don't seem that excited for, with not a lot of potential. This would be fine if this was my passion project. If the story of the Mistress and our Hero was something I needed to tell, but it's not. It's some dumb fun excuses to make porn. So I think I'm going to have more fun just going with the flow and making whatever is strikes me in the moment. Right now I'm late on chasing a trend and making a Brazilian Miku animation and having loads of fun.
If you were a big Frustration fan I appreciate you and I'm sorry it turned out this way. I owe you guys a Mistress sex scene and I will make one I promise. I also want to do more stuff that would've ended up in the game. Nun stuff, car stuff, a couple giantesses, I have a Sadako/the ring animation completed that I'll probably be releasing next.
Anyway, thank you all for your time and support, it's been a lot of fun, I'm sorry the Frustration got the better of me.
Happy Friday to all who Celebrate!

Sad to see your Project go,
but i understand your intention and at least i hope you got some experience out of it to do what you really want to do. You will not lose any Support by me as i found you just the last 1-2 month looking for new Games and just checked what i´m getting for free and tested out. Nevertheless - I had Fun testing it out - and even if there are some points one could say them need some "polish" - you did well so far. So if you are into making adult Games - you have what it takes - and never let someone stop you. I´ll keep following you to see what you come up with. Maybe i´ll like it or not - but you are a Creator. Do what you can the best, and much more important - what you like. It´s impossible to please everybody anyway!
Whatever, while i don´t gave you financial Support i hope i can give you some Moral Support. I wish you all the best "Homer" [do it for her - ;)]!
Thanks for the kind words. I really appreciate it. I will be doing it for her in spirit haha.
This is really a shame. While Frustration isn't the best adult game I've played, it is a very good one, and I'm sorry that you're stopping. I appreciate that you're being upfront about it and I support your decision; you should do what you think is best for you, whatever that is.
But I also hope you'll reconsider. I don't know that much about the economics of the adult game industry, but if you're within 12 months of completing the game... Well, a Steam release could be really rewarding, I think, even with all the hoops they make you jump through.
In any case, I wish you the best and I've really enjoyed your work. I hope you find greater success and satisfaction with your next project.
Thanks, pal. I'm glad you enjoyed it. Sorry I couldn't pull through to the end.
As far as I'm aware games that use Illusion software (honey select and the like) for renders are not allowed on steam. Technically people shouldn't really be making games with them in general, but they weren't litigious about it. Illusion the company has since gone under so it's even more of a grey area. That is all to say a steam release was never really on the cards unfortunately.
Sad to see this one go but it's totally understandable with what you've shared here! Even more points for taking the time to be explain things instead of leaving people in the dark, and even more points ontop of that for being upfront and honest about it!
Thanks, I appreciate the understanding.
